About Steve & Sandy

Hi. We're Sandy and Steve.

This is the story of two reasonably intelligent adults who somehow woke up one morning and said, "Do you think we could survive on water, vegetables, and optimism?' And then actually committed to finding out.

Welcome to Counting Drops, Not Donuts - a blog about health, discipline, denial, determination, and the occasional attachment to bread.

WHY THIS BLOG EXISTS

At some point, the scale stopped whispering and started shouting.

We've both danced with diets before. We've flirted with willpower. We've made promises to ourselves that lasted anywhere from 48 hours to a respectable three weeks.

But this time feels different.

This time, we decided to document the journey.

Not because we have it all figured out.

But because we absolutely do not.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND HERE

You'll find:

* Honest reflections about starting a medically supervised food plan.

* Flashbacks to every diet we've ever loved (and left)

* Observations about hunger, habits, and human nature

* Updates on progress -- physical and emotional

* And probably a few dramatic monologues about cabbage

Some posts are thoughtful.
Some are practical.
Some are written while staring longingly at our pantry.

All are real.

A SMALL DISCLAIMER

We are not doctors.
We are not influencers.
We are not here to sell you protein powder.

We are simply two people attempting to do something difficult with humor intact.

If you've ever:

* Promised "Monday"

* Hidden snacks anywhere

 * Owned "Goal Jeans"

 * Or whispered to yourself, "This time I mean it.."

You're in the right place.

Pull up a chair.

We're counting drops.
